Anyway..We Love Our Country Malaysia..We Are One Malaysia :)
In the nutshell, with many changes in the education fields, Malaysia still categorized under on of the best education system in the world. We as Malaysian citizen should be proud of what we having in our country after 55 years of independence. We Already "Merdeka" and we are unite as "One".In this last entry for this blog, I upload along "Lagu 1 Malaysia" that fulfill the Malaysian theme of this blog. Enjoy the song people. Assalamualaikum.
Challenges Before And Now !!!!!
Compared to the life and challenges of past and present
students, there are many differences.
Where once only a short walk or bike ride can bring a student
to the school, now there are much more transportations out there to school or a
car waiting at the front of the house for the students.
Even there were once the
students only used to eat basic food in intention to cover up their hunger until
the school’s bell rings however students nowadays now being dumped with variety
of cuisines for them to fulfil their wants and hunger.
Those who are more fortunate will have extra pocket money
supply from their parents and the needs and wants of having variety electronic
gadgets such as advanced mobile phones and laptops surely be fulfilled on time.
However, amid all the facilities, there are arose effect of negativity when we viewing the self-esteem and enthusiasm to study of the students as they are not as solid as ever before in this new era.
Student achievement is also not as great today although they
are surrounded by luxury compared to the old generation students that are more
low profiles and have a simple living.
Scenario creates significant gaps to allow the expectations
that the students today are over pampered that lead to the cause of low
self-esteem and their life principles changed to be weak and fragile.
Students in past need to work hard to meet the desire to
make them more successful in spite of the poverty that strikes their life. They
work hard and study smart even though with not enough financial in hand.
Parents before give full credence to educational
institutions in hope to make their children successful in life compared to the
parents today who mostly they assume that teachers don’t have any right to
touch or punish their children even their children commit any mistakes in study
or failing in importance subjects.
The pampered way of living among the students nowadays surely
will give more bad impacts towards the students’s achievements in study and the
chance of Malaysian students to grab the best achievement in life will be lower
in time.

Current Education Spoils The Students ?????
Education of
the old day’s era and now is not much different except for the changes of the
subject. This is my observation after seeing the student’s education and school
experience in the past. I can honestly say that the education in Malaysia
country needs a revolution not only from the teachers but the parents as well.
Although generally the education system in Malaysia's from past is not very good,
however there are less negative results of students in past compared to the
students in present time. Maybe in the old days, there are less exposure of
negative symptoms and negative cultures towards the students.
After I read
about the education of students that study abroad at international school in this
modern day, I found the education system of Malaysia is as follows:
1) The Malaysian
education system that does not punish the students that cannot perform well in
the annual tests but being punish by which they are grouped into the same class
(the lower class especially) for the following year. There is a saying that
stated “for they are condemned to stupidity forever”. This is because in that
class there will be some students that have no interest in learning and they
may interferes the desire of other students that interested to study to succeed
but needs more attention from the teacher as they are located in the lower class.
2) One way
learning being practices which there is no space for discussion among students
and teachers.
3) The
teachers just give more attention to top class while the one who really
requiring more attention is the lower class students.
4) Most of the
teachers only emphasis on memorization or nonstop training rather than ensuring
that students to understand the basic concept of a topic,
5) Parents
are not obliged to sign their children’s homework nowadays to make sure the homework
is done on time.
6) The school
does not call for parents with troubled children in their studies for every
each term to simplify the problems of the child and let the problems to
continue.

Big differences! Traditional & Modern!
In our country Malaysia, the education styles have been
changing in time and the developments never ever stop. Between the traditional
education and modern education style, there are many differences that can be
spotted. Let us see them one by one.
This Is How Old Days School Looks Like |
Classroom
Traditional:
To be selected in a classroom. Students in old days matched
by age, and possibly also by ability. All students in a classroom are taught
only with the same material.
Modern:
For the students in this modern era, to be selected in a
class students dynamically grouped by interest or ability for each project or
subject, with the possibility of different groups each hour of the day. It can
be either multi-age classrooms or open classrooms.
Teaching
Methods/Materials.
Traditional:
Traditional education’s students learn through listening and
observation. They concentrated only on theory learning and abandoned practical
way of learning. The materials uses in this type of education are instructions
that based on textbooks, lectures, and individual written assignments.
Modern:
Progressive education which emphasizes on hands-on activity,
group activities and presentation in the class hours. The materials use to do
any of the project given is based on instruction and will be using any
available resource including Internet, library and outside experts.
Social Aspects.
Traditional:
In old days, education has little or no attention to social
development. They only focus on independent learning. Socializing largely is
totally discouraged except for extracurricular activities and teamwork-based
projects only it is allowed.
Modern School Nowadays |
Modern:
In the new way of education style, they are more focussing on
the significant attention to social development, including teamwork,
interpersonal relationships, and self-awareness.

Getting To Know Our Differences Since Now And Then
First of all, Happy Independence Day
to all Malaysians. Our country has officially independent for 55 years. Now and
then, there are just too many changes that happen in our beloved country
Malaysia and the changes happened just in the blink of an eye, they are so fast
especially in education field. The things that will be exposed in my blog are
about educational standards today versus those of years ago. The world
continues to change so education must change as society evolves.
Way back then, report cards were
totally different from what they are today. First of all, you had to earn your
grade. There was no such thing as called as co-curriculum which is declared as
so important in the education today. To get a better opportunity and best
position or occupation in future, most students strive academically rather than
practically as the best academic achiever in old days will always success in
their life and lead a better living in the future. However, education that we
have now concentrated on both academic and practical and the most important is
extra co-curriculum activity to rise on our percentage as a student in this
era.
New Era Parents Choose Kindergarten Than Home |
For practical purposes, the
students were partially home schooled before home schooling existed as an
industry in old days. However in our modern society, education can be gained
through kindergarten and child care services for the fresh starter in getting
knowledge. This is why most of the elder generation owned several general
skills and technical skills without joining any paid academies as they learned
those things through experiences. Obviously, new generations having
difficulties in facing on the spot problems and too depending on others without
even trying to solve the problems as they never learned to do skilful based
activities before and just concentrated in school studies which be claimed as
the most important thing in this era.
Worst of all is attitude.
Yesterday’s student was willing to work but today’s student is not. Past
students thought of education as a privilege, however our current students in
Malaysia view it as an entitlement. Furthermore, earlier students will always take
responsibility for their mistakes compared to contemporary students who will
depend on their parents or friends. Previously, it was honourable enough to
obtain a B and at least acceptable to receive a C, especially with the harder
classes. Nowadays, students want at least a B for signing up for class and they
can get an A without much hard work as the syllabus getting easier in time.
55 Year Changed Everything |
In the nutshell, our education
style from the traditional type until this modern style are both having their own
positives sides and not to forget the
consequences. Even the styles are different from the old era and new era,
knowledge is still a crucial matter in everyone’s life forever.
